Job Responsibilities:
- Assessing and diagnosing mental health conditions based on individual evaluations.
- Developing personalized care plans and treatment strategies for patients.
- Administering and monitoring medication as prescribed.
- Conducting therapeutic interventions and counseling sessions.
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate and deliver comprehensive care.
- Educating patients and their families on mental health issues, treatment options, and coping strategies.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or equivalent qualification.
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Postgraduate qualifications in Mental Health Nursing or relevant specialization highly desirable.
- Proven experience working in mental health settings, preferably in an inpatient or outpatient facility.
- Sound knowledge of mental health conditions, diagnostic procedures, and evidence-based treatments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients, families, and a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Valid police clearance and Working with Children Check).
