Aged Care Nurse Practitioner

Prospero Recruitment is actively recruiting on behalf of our client for an Experienced Aged Care Nurse Practitioner, to work across four facilities in the Canterbury region (Christchurch, Timaru, Ashburton).

This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide personalised care for predominantly elderly residents.

About the Role:

• Our ideal candidate can be based in either Christchurch, Ashburton or Timaru (this roles requires travel between our clients 4 aged care facilities)
• This role is flexible and can be either full-time or part-time (Depending on your preference)
• Competitive salary: $131,040 – $156,000 per year or $63 p/h – $75 p/h

Job Description:

• Conducting comprehensive health assessments and contributing to individualised care plans.
• Prescribing medications and overseeing treatments in accordance with Aged Residential Care Contracts, and Nga Paerewa standards.
• Providing leadership and guidance to nursing staff and care staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Collaborating with doctors, medical specialists, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care.
• Contribute toward quality improvement initiatives and policy development.

Skills and Experience

• Master’s degree in Nursing Science or equivalent.
• Registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the Nursing Council of New Zealand.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in clinical nursing, preferably in aged care.
• Strong clinical, leadership, and communication skills.
